Beauty Routine according to the original male supermodel Fabio

Fabio has been known for decades for his flowing hair and amazing physique. He was the original male supermodel who you may also remember from all of the romance novel covers.

He recently launched an Australian luxury line called Aston James so we took the opportunity to speak to him about his beauty routine.

Hair

The first thing to know about good hair, is that your diet matters. I eat a lot of protein and minerals which are the building blocks of the entire body. You are told to eat these things to help you recover from your workout, the same goes for your hair. I pair this with biotin supplements and together the three help your body absorb the necessary nutrients for good health and nice hair.

Next is to avoid shampoos and conditioners that are packed full of chemicals. The Aston James range which I have co-founded with two Aussie entrepreneurs is a luxury product, but unlike a lot of other luxury products, it does not include harmful ingredients. Instead we have found effective ingredients that nourish the hair and get some serious results. I have always looked for the products with the most effective ingredients that are not harmful and I continue to do that all these years later. A favourite ingredient of mine at the moment is Cool Menthol which regulates oil production, removed dandruff build up and encourages the growth of longer, stronger hair.

Also use conditioner sparingly. It may be the different between your hair looking nice and shiny, or flat and greasy.

Skin

I have always loved researching interesting products and natural experts that get serious results when it comes to skincare. My favourite ingredients at the moment (which we have included in the Aston James range) include watermelon seed oil which helps to detoxify pores, Willow bark for exfoliating and hemp seed oil for moisturising your skin without clogging your pores, however products are only part of it. Good skin requires a good lifestyle. Get a good nights sleep, drink plenty of water, don’t get too much sun, eat well. All of these tips are important for a good life too

Wellbeing

My secret to feeling my best at 61 is an active lifestyle, a wholesome diet and no alcohol. I do not drink or eat sweets, and I make sure I take vitamins, eat protein and minerals as those three working together will help your body absorb the necessary nutrients.

With regards to fitness, I do cardio everyday in the form of a run or go on the stationary bike. Sometimes I will mix it up though with hiking or dirt bike riding. I also like to use free weights in the gym, but now I focus on less weight but more reps.
